Our Team
Jerod r. padgett, President
A native West Texan, Jerod Padgett has been in the oil and gas business for nearly two decades. He began his career in the industry while working on drilling rigs across the Permian Basin. He then transitioned from the drilling rigs and started working as a Landman with Atlantic Operating. He played a key role in growing the company’s leasehold position from 3,500 acres to approximately 32,000 acres by acquiring leasehold interests in the “Wolfbone” resource play in Reeves County, Texas.
After Atlantic’s successful divestiture of their leasehold position to NGP, Jerod remained on the team that founded Atlantic Exploration, LLC. This team would manage and grow the original Atlantic assets through additional acreage acquisitions, as well as the drilling of over 35 horizontal wells, until their divestiture to Centennial Resources Development, Inc.
Jerod then went on to co-found Atlantic Resources Company, LLC. In his role as Land Manager, Jerod was responsible for leading the company’s leasehold acquisition efforts, managing the internal land team and overseeing contract title brokers. Jerod then left Atlantic Resources Company to pursue solo opportunities in the mineral acquisition space.
Soon after leaving Atlantic, Jerod founded Angle Investments, LLC and Gusher Royalty, LLC. He serves as President of both companies. Since the inception of Angle and Gusher, Jerod and his partners have been directly involved in approximately 200 mineral and royalty transactions totaling more than $150 million in invested capital.
Jerod prides himself on his transparency and efficiency when dealing with royalty owners in West Texas. His wealth of knowledge and experience has proven to be an invaluable resource for mineral and royalty owners across the Permian Basin.
Jerod earned his undergraduate degree in Finance from Angelo State University and his Master of Business Administration from Texas Tech University. In his free time, Jerod coaches his son’s football team, enjoys hunting and fishing and working on his golf game.
